This presentation describes the use of Silicon Carbide (SiC) Power Electronics applied to Piezoelectric Actuators in Aerospace Applications.

The design approach, simulation and modelling to accurately predict the performance of the resulting system in presented, with insights for the use of Silicon Carbide power electronics devices in this type of application. Key difference in the behaviour of piezoelectric actuators relevant to inverter circuits are discussed, and how both temperature and pressure can have an impact on electrical behaviour of the power electronics.
