About the session
The conference was chaired by James Robottom who commenced the event by welcoming the attendees and the speakers to the event. Dr Kevin Stenson welcomed the scholars to the event. He said that scholars will learn about challenges in the energy sector within engineering and acquire knowledge about how to engage and address these challenges. Chris Stark spoke to the engineers about the work he is doing in the Committee on Climate Change and the net zero target. He discussed the scientific goal of net zero, in which it is the point the greenhouse gasses being emitted into the atmosphere is balanced by the greenhouse gasses we can remove from the atmosphere and the importance of reaching this in halting the warming of the planet.
