Ruari Maybank was the project sponsor for London's Olympic Park utilities for the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). As project sponsor, he was responsible for the delivery of all utilities infrastructure on the Olympic Park - a four-year, £350M portfolio of projects to meet the needs of the London 2012 Olympic Games and post-Games legacy. The utilities infrastructure included the UK's largest district heating and cooling system and the UK's largest urban waste water recycling system. This interview outlines the key challenges and methods to ensure success on delivery of the infrastructure. Ruari also goes on to outline the importance of engineering and its part in the overall delivery.
