Abstract
2018 saw the inauguration of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), which brings together the seven existing research councils, as well as Innovate UK and the Research and Knowledge Exchange functions of the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) into a unified body.
On the day of its 'Influencing the future of innovation' event, Adam Savage from the IET interviewed UKRI Director of Strategy Rebecca Endean about what's needed to ramp up innovation in the UK, why there has to be a focus on people as well as technology, the progress that the organisation has made so far and its plans for the future.
