Abstract
This entry has been chosen as the winner for its application of measurement to the assessment of optical hazard from light sources. The eyeLIGHT software platform allows for a complete optical radiation safety assessment to be performed in a step-by-step manner with a clear hazard result obtained. An assessment of such hazards isessential for working Directives such as the recently introduced EU Artificial Optical Radiation Directive as well as general product safety.The IET Innovation Awards celebrate the products, technologies and processes that lead the way in engineering innovation. Spanning 15 categories, the Awards are judged by engineering experts and recognise the depth and breadth of innovative work being carried out across all areas of engineering and technology.
