Abstract
A consortium comprising Parsons Brinckerhoff, Alstom Grid, Durham University, Imass and ScottishPower were awarded the 2010 Power / Energy Innovation Award for A Novel Smart Grid Solution for Active Management of Distributed Generators using Real-time Thermal Ratings. The judging panel said 'This submission is innovative, timely and well supported by the evidence of its success.'The IET Innovation Awards celebrate the products, technologies and processes that lead the way in engineering innovation. Spanning 15 categories, the Awards are judged by engineering experts and recognise the depth and breadth of innovative work being carried out across all areas of engineering and technology.
