About the session

Astroscale is the first private company with a vision for the safe and sustainable development of space for the benefit of future generations, and the only company dedicated to in-orbit servicing across all orbits. The End-of-life Services by Astroscale Demonstration mission (ELSA-d), launched in March 2021, is the world’s first commercial mission designed to test the technology for fully de-orbiting a piece of debris from low Earth orbit (LEO) using a magnetic capture mechanism. Astroscale will share highlights from ELSA-d’s first test capture and plans to carry out more complex debris capture manoeuvres in the coming months. You’ll hear about a new docking plate, recently released by Astroscale to prepare satellites for future servicing and removal, and Astroscale’s plans to develop a service that will remove multiple pieces of debris in a single mission, known as ELSA-M. Finally, you’ll hear about our plans to develop Space Situational Awareness capabilities, an integral part of Astroscale’s missions and services.
