About the session

The IET Achievement Awards Ceremony was held on Wednesday, 16 November 2016 at the Brewery, Chiswell Street, London. We announced the winners of our prestigious awards including the Faraday Medal and the Apprentice and Technician of the Year Awards and the winner of the Present around the World (PATW) Competition 2016.

    Sean Lubner

    Sean Lubner is a postdoctoral researcher at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab in collaboration with Stanford University. He holds a Mechanical Engineering PhD in Energy Science & Technology from the Nano Energy Lab at UC Berkeley, and received his BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and in Applied Physics (with a minor philosophy) from Carnegie Mellon University in 2011. He has published multiple scientific papers, is a co-inventor of 13 US patents from his time working at Apple, and was the recipient of a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. He captained his university rowing team and is an amateur power lifter who loves the outdoors. Sean is passionate about creating disruptive and scalable new technologies to build a carbon-free energy future.
