Abstract
The top five teams from the 2017-18 season league table attended the IET Faraday Challenge Day National Final on Wednesday 11 July at Thorpe Park to compete for the season’s winning title and £1000 for their school. This year’s challenge was in association with Thorpe Park Resort and tasked teams to design and develop a prototype that could make one of the rides safer, more attractive to ride or more efficient to use and include an electrical circuit.
One-hundred and sixty-seven events took place across the UK to host the 2017-18 IET Faraday Challenge Days. Up to six teams of year 8 school students competed at each event to find the best solution to the engineering-related challenge.
