The IET's most prestigious award, the Faraday Medal, was presented to Professor Kees Schouhamer Immink. The IET Volunteer Medal was awarded for the first time in 2015, Eur Ing Gordon Dixon from Solent Local Network received his award at the ceremony.

The winners of the Apprentice and Technician of the Year Awards were revealed at the ceremony. James Garnham at Cisco Systems Ltd was announced as the winner of the IET Apprentice of the Year award, Sam Wicks from Sudlows was the recipient of the IET Technician of the Year award and Sergeant Craig Fulford (REME) was chosen from an exemplary short list to win the IET Armed Forces Technician of the Year award.

The second part of the ceremony included the IET Postgraduate Scholarships and Undergraduate Grants which recognised and reward excellence in individuals within the engineering and technology fields.

The ceremony also included the global final of the "Present around the World" competition, a presentation competition for students, recent graduates, apprentices and young professionals. Five contestants from across the globe gave a ten minute presentation and the winner and runner up were chosen by the audience and a panel of judges.
