Conference
  • Session
  • Monday, 21 April 2008
  • 00:21 - 00:21
  • Duration: 16 mins
  • Publication date: 21 Apr 2008
  • Location: IETTV_Room, IETTV_Venue, London, United Kingdom
  • Part of event Institution of Engineering and Technology Conference on Synthetic Biology, Systems Biology and Bioinformatics (BioSysBio 2008)

About the session

Advancements in high-throughput technologies have generated an abundance of information that enable exploring human metabolism as a complex system. Accordingly, there is an increasing need to develop tools that allow systematic analyses of these large datasets to generate biologically meaningful interpretations. Genome-scale reconstructions can facilitate these tasks by serving as a comprehensive knowledge base of components specific to a defined biological system and a modeling platform to analyze network capabilities as a function of context-specific data.
