    Professor Chris Hankin

    Professor Hankin is a Professor of Computing Science at Imperial College London. He is Co-Director of the College’s Institute for Security Science and Technology. His research is in data analytics and cyber security.He leads multidisciplinary projects focussed on developing advanced visual analytics and providing better decision support to defend against cyber attacks. He is Director of the NCSC/EPSRC Research Institute on Trustworthy Industrial Control Systems.He chairs the Academic Resilience and Security Community (Academic RiSC), a network of 30 universities, and serves on the Security and Resilience Growth Partnership oversight group. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET.

    Chris Johnson

    University of Glasgow, Professor and Head of Computing

    Chris Johnson is Professor and Head of Computing at the University of Glasgow. His work focuses on the intersection between cyber security and safety-critical systems, particularly in the aviation and civil nuclear domains. He has held two fellowships from NASA and two fellowships from the US Air Force working with Langley AFB and Space Command.He is working with the US Navy/FAA (2015-) on network monitoring for safety and security and in 2017 worked on cyber incident response for the UK Department for Transport covering all aviation sectors. He helped write the business continuity case for LVNL (2015) and worked with Aeroports de Paris/Helios (2016) on the cyber-security of Airport Operations Centres.Johnson worked with the US government Pacific North Western Labs under contract to the United Nations supporting the cyber security of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear facilities around the globe and helps lead forensic capability for the UK civil nuclear industry. He has some 300 peer reviewed publications.

    Audrey Canning is Managing Director of Virkonnen Ltd, combined with a continuing commitment to delivery of engineering safety cases, management of engineering research projects and development of safety standards at an International level.In addition to provision of independent safety assessment in the process, nuclear and defense industries, as Engineering Safety and Assurance Manager she has successfully delivered the safety evidence to support the commissioning of several railway infrastructure projects, including the Piccadilly Line Extension to Heathrow T5.She is the international convener for the international functional safety standard for software engineering IEC 61508-3, the UK software expert in the process industries functional safety standard IEC 61511 and the founding chairman of the IET Safety Community. Audrey has an engineering degree from Cambridge University and more than 40 years’ experience in the development and assessment of advanced computer-based systems.
