About the session

This talk covers a programming model and development methodology which allows programmers to create algorithm and application implementations in (FPGA) hardware. The model is distinguished by being simple both to understand and compile and it only requires a C programmer to learn a strictly limited number of new concepts. Because of these characteristics a programmer is never out of full control of his design; the language and the tool never attempt 'too clever' optimisations and mappings that might fail. The system has been validated many times over by blue-chip companies who have reported oustanding results. When whole computing applications are mapped into hardware this way, it becomes perfectly ordinary to execute them without a single computer being around to slow down the computation!
