About the session
It has been nearly 10 years since the start of the first FttH (Fibre to the Home) pilot projects in the Netherlands, up to the massive roll-out available now with approximately 250,000 homes connected every year. A lot of mistakes were made in the beginning, but FttH has become a mature business model over the last few years. This presentation highlights the practical issues when building a fibre network; the challenges and problems you could face and how the Dutch market developed some innovative concepts to solve these 'headaches'. To sum it up, a practice-oriented presentation shows the lessons learned after a decade of fibre deployment.
