About the session

Session C4: Harmonic Interactions with HVDC systems
Room: Stanley Suite
Session chair: Jenny Zhou Teshmont, UK

This video covers:

1. HVDC and FACTs devices are some of the power systems devices which producde harmonics

2. If these harmonics are not filtered properly they can propogate through the network

3. Harmonic voltages and currents can be amplified by resonances in the system

4. During the planning stages of these harmonic sources the possibility of harmonic interactions with existing filters in the network must be determined

5. An extension to the voltage ratio based multi-infeed interaction factor (MIIF) is proposed based on the energy ration to determine the possibility of harmonic interactions
