Abstract
Flooding can cause damage to homes and businesses, destroying property and cars, and even result in many deaths. In 2014, the cost of damage caused by flooding in the United Kingdom alone was over £1 billion. It can also cause misery and distress to people, as their valuable possessions are lost or destroyed.
This video is part of the IET Faraday's teaching resources developed in September 2015 as part of the BBC micro:bit programme and explores how early warning systems can allow home and business owners to take measures to protect their property.
