Abstract

This #EngShort looks at how we can #engineer a more resilient world, to prepare for future global shocks. As the probability of global disruptions like #Covid-19 increases, nations must review their infrastructure security and crisis plans. Engineering a more resilient world for our increasingly technology-dependent society presents big challenges. A systems approach powered by data and digital modelling is enabling engineers to predict how future scenarios will play out. Understanding and acting on the interdependencies of systems will be vital. For this reason, #resilience assurance will become an integral part of every engineer’s training. What more can we do to ensure engineers are equipped to prepare us for the shocks ahead? Comment below to let us know.
