    Cranfield University, Reader in Manufacturing Operations

    Dr Peter Ball (CEng) has worked with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) over many years on events, the professional registration review process and writing Insight guides. At Cranfield University he is Reader in Manufacturing Operations. He teaches on the MSc in Aerospace Manufacturing as well as being course director for the MSc in Engineering and Management of Manufacturing Systems (EMMS). He is now Director of Education for the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing responsible for the strategic direction of the teaching and learning in the school. On research he is the Cranfield lead for the "EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing (CIM) on Industrial Sustainability" and co-investigator for “EPSRC Small is Beautiful energy resilient manufacturing” running projects on understanding how manufacturing practices contribute to eco-efficiency, modelling and simulating resources in manufacturing for eco-efficiency and understanding how to apply cleaner production principles to supply chains.
