About the session

PROFIBUS is a technology that requires a good understanding to make it work effectively and efficiently. As with most things in life, simple is often best and although PROFIBUS is based on complex technology, implementing it in the field is a relatively simple affair if certain rules are followed. The PROFIBUS organisation has expended considerable effort in producing rules that, if followed, will ensure a successful project. However in this modern climate of saving energy and costs, efforts should also be made to ensure that the most efficient method of design is used to enable energy savings to be made throughout the life of the project. 'Efficient Design' describes the necessary procedures to get a PROFIBUS project successfully and efficiently to the configuration stage.
