Abstract

The Natural History Museum is at a pivotal moment in its history as it seeks to create the Museum’s new Digital Twin Technology Vision to support the Museum’s new Strategy to recognise the value of all Technology (Data, Digital and IT) in an ecosystem of people, devices and services for the Museum.

This will have a tremendous positive impact on all those who interact with the Museum in person, virtually or globally.

Technology is opening up new ways of seeing and unlocking the Collection. The Museum is working to get 25 per cent of the 86 million specimens online within five years, making one of the world’s most important datasets about the planet accessible to the global science community.

We went along to find out more about the progress being made.
