About the session

With the continuing fast growth of several DER technologies, local approaches to network management exploiting the available local DER resource is now subject to extensive research, demonstration, trial and, in some cases, operational adoption. Various microgrid technical and business models have emerged in this space and other concepts for local network management have also emerged.
This round table explores the concepts for local system management and the trial and adoption of the developed methods. The session will identify and discuss the success stories, remaining challenges and the outlook for such local network management approaches.

The session scope includes IDNOs, VPPs, resilient DSO zones, operational methods for microgrids, business models, ownership/control authority issues, control methods, local network/system balancing, wider system services, commercial/market arrangements andcustomer participation.
