Abstract
The Lecture will examine the various evolving cyber threat scenarios faced by UK citizens and organisations in their use of the Internet, Cloud Computing and associated electronic Commerce and electronic Government applications. It will explore how the growing cooperation between government, business and academic stakeholders is being marshalled to identify, contain and mitigate these threats. The Lecture will discuss how by working together we can tackle the risks arising from our exploitation of cyberspace without compromising its enormous economic and social benefits; it will highlight the role of engineering and engineers in leading and directing this effort.
