About the session

The technical talks will centre on: Innovative AHT devices and technologies, mhealth, ehealth, AI, medical laboratory technology, Hospital Technology Management (HTM), training, alternative energy sources, medical informatics, sustainability, appropriate equipment donations, appropriate patient transport to hospitals and health centres from remote areas, links between healthcare facilities in industrialised countries and low resource settings.

    Ed Ang

    MF Technology

    Ed Ang is the managing director of MF Technology Asia, a clinical engineering consultancy that is based in Singapore, and works with clients in the medical devices and wearables industry. Ed obtained his Bachelors, and subsequently a doctorate from Imperial College London in 2009, and has since worked in the medical devices and wearables industry for more than 8 years. This includes R&D engineering roles at Sensium Healthcare, Bodytrak, and Qritive.Ed is an experienced engineer, having led multi-disciplinary R&D teams in academia and in industry, in projects relating to biomedical algorithm, machine learning, and prototype development. He works routinely with SMEs and understands many of the constraints that they face. Crucially, Ed has experience with deploying wearable products in clinical trials for the purposes of validation and data collection for algorithm development, from the grant application stage to study protocol design, and deployment. Apart from technical team management, Ed is also a hands on software algorithms/ML engineer and carries out development work for his clients. He is an adjunct senior lecturer, as part of the Innovation Design Programme at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he supervises students from various departments, in the design and construction of prototypes. His notable achievements are as follows.
