About the session
The Connected Autonomous Vehicle is one of the most radical advances in the history of the automotive industry with implications for businesses, governments and society. While much of the OEM focus is around infotainment, telematics and diagnostics, many major tech players and start-ups are innovating and investing heavily in the ‘smartphone on wheels’ and value-add OTT services; while some MNOs seek to strengthen their M2M/IoT propositions by acquiring vehicle telematics providers. While the sharing economy is keen to embrace Mobility-as-a-Service, there is also push-back against the Uber’isation of transport. We will explore whether these activities really benefit the consumer; how safety and security will be tackled and whether there will be a coherent and seamless ICT experience or simply fragmentation.
