Abstract
During this pandemic, engineers and technicians have kept the country going by ensuring that critical infrastructures continue to supply us with power, water and communications. While we battle towards recovery from the pandemic, we must stay committed to fighting climate change. Our economic recovery needs to be a green recovery. Climate change remains the most significant long-term challenge for our planet and most of the technology needed to build a net-zero economy already exits. These include renewable energy, efficiency technologies and smart infrastructures. To achieve net-zero in the timescales we need, society, industry and governments need to work together and make society greener, smarter and more connected. Can we lead the way towards a sustainable recovery?
