Abstract
This step-by-step video guide is a helpful introduction showing teachers and parents how to make balloon race cars from plastic construction blocks, such as LEGO®. Using balloons to power their vehicles, they will measure their speed over a set distance.
This fun STEM challenge is aimed at primary school children.

Tools/resources required
• Plastic construction bricks, including wheels
• Balloons
• A stopwatch or a stopwatch App on a phone
• If available: a tape measure to measure the
• distance of the course
• Optional: plastic straws, sticky tape, cardboard
• strips (for walls for the test track)
