A space-vector modulation algorithm for a grid-connected single-phase seven-level inverter

This presentation proposes a space-vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM) algorithm for a single-phase seven-level inverter for grid-connected applications. The SVPWM is an advanced computer-intensive modulation technique that offers important advantages over the sinusoidal PWM (SPWM) which has been used for this inverter topology. The proposed SVPWM algorithm is simulated and implemented on a grid-connected system. It is based on the usage of the low-cost digital signal controller (DSC) dsPIC30F128MC802. The generated waveform of voltage and current delivered to the grid present a low total harmonic distortion (THD).
