Abstract
5G networks which are anticipated to be soft, green, and super-fast may possibly be deployed in 2020s to satisfy the challenging demands of mobile communication in various scenarios.
After several years of worldwide pursuit of 5G solutions, the campaign on 5G standards has just begun, with diversified proposals on timeline, work scope, key technologies, and spectrum strategy.
The question is: are we getting closer to answers for 5G? Characterised by a mixed set of KPIs like data rates, latency, mobility, energy efficiency, and traffic density, 5G services demand a fundamental revolution on the end to end (E2E) network architecture and key technologies design.
The lecture with give you an overview of CMCC’s 5G solutions. E2E network architecture will be presented with UCN (User Centric Network) & SDAI (Soft Defined Air Interface). The corresponding enabling technologies will be presented as imperative solutions for diversified set of usage scenarios. CMCC’s views on standardisation timeline and work scope, spectrum strategy, prototyping and field trial plans will also be shared.
