Abstract
Will.i.am joined the global grand challenges summit 2013 on March 12 to give his take on how engineers and engineering should put itself more in the limelight to attract younger engineers from different backgrounds.will.i.am also went on to say that the ghetto's shouldn't be forgotten. If younger engineers could emerge from the ghetto they could then help to eradicate ghetto's around the world.Will.i.am was invited to the Grand Global Challenges Summit by friend, engineer and inventor of the Segway, Dean Kamen. Will.i.am also spoke about how engineering is behind everything around us, he himself engineers his music. Music is celebrated with lavish award ceremonies, maybe it's time engineers had better exposure in the media and public eye. Without the engineers and the big thinkers, progression and more so sustainability will become a bigger struggle.Will.i.am realises it's time we fixed the world for the better and it's the younger generation that can do this.
