Wireless Sensor Networks and Beyond

Wireless sensor networks are a hot issue worldwide, and significant progress has been achieved in the past few years. However, we are only beginning to find out about their real potential, and there are still major challenges that need to be solved. In this presentation, an overview of the biggest challenges in wireless sensor networks is given, and some of the solutions are highlighted. Then some applications of sensor network technologies are presented, which go beyond traditional sensor network applications.
