Abstract
Launched in 2010, the annual National Manufacturing Debate is hosted and organised by Cranfield University, and serves as an independent forum for supporters of UK-based manufacturing.
Attending stakeholders include manufacturers; engineers and scientists; academics; national and local government representatives; finance providers; trade bodies; membership organisations and educational providers.
The main topic for 2018 was 'Will the published industrial strategy help rebuild manufacturing?', so when the IET arrived on campus for this year's event, we decided to put this very question to several speakers and attendees, and this is what they had to say.
