Abstract
Margaret describes her love of her job as an engineer and how that inspires her to work towards changing perceptions about what careers in the sector can offer. An IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) Fellow since 2013, Margaret volunteers in schools, fuelled by a desire to give something back to the profession which has recognised her achievements. She is passionate about the need to increase understanding of what engineers actually do and how they contribute to society, in the hope that this will influence young people making their choices about their future.
