About the session

Note that this talk contains descriptions of serious criminal offences.

The regulation of technology has been a significant topic of public discussion in recent months, as more provisions of the Online Safety Act have been implemented. This occurs against a backdrop where, over the past year, the Post Office Horizon IT Scandal has highlighted concerns about the potential misuse of digital evidence in criminal proceedings.

Against this backdrop, this talk presents a regulatory failure affecting the criminal justice system in England & Wales that most are unaware is actively ongoing - and how the speaker was able to overcome it to prevent a miscarriage of justice.
