Abstract
Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing gaming - from in-game physics and animation simulation to real-time rendering and AI-assisted broadcasting features.
Deep Learning Super Sampling, or DLSS, is an innovative piece of technology that uses the power of AI to boost frame rates in games by using advanced sampling and anti-aliasing techniques that smooth out screen blurring, ghosting and motion artefacts and create an image that looks like a higher-resolution image without sacrificing frame rate or processing power.
We've just seen the release of DLSS 2.0, a radical upgrade that promises huge performance increases without the need for a hardware upgrade. However, there are challenges to widespread adoption. Will it revolutionise gaming, or simply fall by the wayside?
