About the session

The London Project to Cure Blindness is a collaboration between Professor Pete Coffey and Dr Lyndon da Cruz from University College London and Moorfields Eye Hospital. The project aims to use Stem Cell technology to restore sight, prevent progression and ultimately improve the quality of life for patients with Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and other retinal and macular disorders, combining cutting edge knowledge and technology from the laboratory, clinic and operating theatre.

    Christos conducts research on surgical robotics and image-guidance algorithms. More specifically, he is working at the interface of flexible surgical robots, medicine, and biology, investigating how miniaturised flexible robots can assist in the delivery of cellular-level therapies such as genes and stem cells.Christos’ Robotics and Vision in Medicine team is embedded in the Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences. Christos is closely collaborating with teams from UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital.
