About the session
Our partner at Delft University of Technology is the Department of Transport & Planning, represented by Prof. Dr. Rob M.P. Goverde, Professor of Railway Traffic Operations & Management.
ASPECT welcomes papers on the topics of Automation, Signalling, Performance, Equipment, Control and Telecommunications. However, in 2019 we were looking for a particular focus on Resilience.
Resilience is defined as the ability of people, organisations and systems to cope with change or adversity, maintaining, or returning to the “normal” state of operation as quickly as possible. It is associated with terms as robustness and risk management but contrary to more traditional risk management approaches it is not solely based on defining scenario’s for dealing with identifiable threats or risks, but also embraces the concept of dealing or coping with the unexpected.
