    Pranjal Sharma

    World Economic Forum, Economic Analyst and Writer

    PRANJAL SHARMA is an economic analyst, advisor and writer who focuses on technology, globalisation and media. He guides projects on economic forecasting, business intelligence and public diplomacy with Indian and global organisations. Pranjal creates and develops research projects that interpret policy impact on industry and society. He is a frequent speaker at events run by leading chambers of industry on policy advocacy and leads public discourse at several platforms in India and abroad. These include AIMA, the St Gallen Symposium, Horasis Global Summit and the Web Summit. Pranjal served as a member on the Global Agenda Council on Transparency and Anti-Corruption at the World Economic Forum for eight years. He is now on the Advisory Board of Partnership Against Corruption Initiative of WEF and a member of WEF's Expert Network. He is visiting and guest faculty at post graduate schools. Pranjal has written and edited books, reports and papers on economic development. His latest book is Kranti Nation: India and The Fourth Industrial Revolution. The book chronicles how technologies like AI, 3D printing, robotics and blockchain are changing India's business landscape. He is also the co-author of The Z Factor. Pranjal is the curator and columnist for a fortnightly page on industry 4.0 for Business Standard newspaper. He writes opinion pieces for BusinessWorld magazine, DNA Newspaper among other publications. Previously, he spent more than 25 years in economic media, mostly in leadership roles with India Today Group, Times of India Group and CNBC Network 18. As Founding Executive Editor at Bloomberg UTV India, he helped launch and run the network. From 2012-14, he served as Advisor Strategy to Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India (at public service broadcaster Prasar Bharati) where he helped bring in industry best practices and enabled creation of its digital strategy.He lives in New Delhi, India.
