About the session

The 2016 Low Carbon Networks & Innovation Conference provides an opportunity to explore the key learnings from electricity and gas network innovation projects. The programme will provide unparalleled networking opportunities in addition to project focused presentations and workshops.

Co-hosted by Electricity North West and taking place at the iconic Manchester Central, the LCNI Conference will be held on 11-13 October 2016. The conference and exhibition will be the UK's must-attend electricity and gas network innovation event for 2016.

    Thazi Edwards

    Having completed a master of engineering degree at Imperial College London in 2012, Thazi commenced his career working as a technical safety and risk consultant for major Caspian sea oil and gas projects. In this role he developed recommendations to Operators for safe methodologies and procedures during operations and emergency scenarios through consequence modelling and quantitative risk assessment. Since joining the DNO industry he has been involved in a breadth of business areas from detailed electrical design, network planning, major programme delivery and operational safety through secondment rotations. Since 2013 this included working across a number of innovation projects from advanced LV networks to dynamic transformer ratings and time connections for low carbon technologies. He has coordinated various programmes of deliverables for both technical and commercial workstreams, such activities comprised contract negotiations and stakeholder engagement to design specifications, engineering standards and installation planning. His contributions to the low carbon portfolio include the following projects: Flexible Urban Networks – Low Voltage, Smart Urban Low Voltage Networks, Power Transformer Real Time Rating and Outage Detection.
