Making the case for heat networks.

This seminar will examine the opportunities and challenges presented by heat networks, exploring technical feasibility and economic viability, optimisation for locality, exploitation of a range of heat sources and the latest on obligations for customer protection and industry technical standards.

    Rufus Ford works as a Business Development Manager on district heating projects for SSE Enterprise Utilities, which operates heat networks serving residential and commercial customers. Rufus has worked for SSE since 2008, previously in various policy and research roles usually with a focus on energy efficiency and low carbon heat. He has also served on the secretariat of the Energy Research Partnership and the board of Scottish Renewables, where he also chaired the heat working group.
