About the session

A seminar exploring the need for utilities to respond to a digital and connected future and the demands of the digital customer.  In a world where data and innovation are becoming critical, what are the new and necessary technologies, collaborations and solutions? How will utilities interact with customers in the future and what are the associated new market opportunities? How can utilities best deliver value and customer satisfaction to the ‘connected customer’?

    Philip Martin

    Philip works with energy service providers across EMEA to better understand and engage their business customers with EnerNOC’s energy intelligence software (EIS). He has played a leading role in EnerNOC’s global expansion and is responsible for the company’s entry into Australia, Japan, and most recently, Ireland. Across these various territories, Philip has led a number of corporate development, regulatory affairs, and utility-facing business development initiatives. Philip has also driven the development of EnerNOC’s integrated DSR and EIS solution for competitive suppliers and led its inaugural sales in the EMEA and Australasia markets. He received his BA in Political Science from Tufts University

    In 2012, Sara set up Tempus Energy: a technology company focused on developing and deploying technology to cost-optimise the electricity supply chain. The Tempus platform uses algorithms and demand-side management technology to harness the financial upside of intermittent renewable power for end users. In 2015, Sara launched Tempus’ electricity supply business: the UK’s first electricity retailer to use an integrated demand-flexible trading solution. Tempus Energy Supply now services over 100 customers.Sara is a member of the Strategic Advisory Council for Energy for the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), and is a board member of the Association of Decentralised Energy (ADE). She is a Trustee of Sustainability First and a member of multiple Ofgem working groups.

    BEAMA, Manager - Emerging Markets

    Yselkla Farmer has worked for BEAMA for 5 years, working on Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, Smart grids and currently managing the activity BEAMA take forward on Connected Homes and Energy Systems. Yselkla provides industry representation on a number of European bodies and has responsibility for the development of industry contributions to UK and EU initiatives relating to the market for connected homes, including technical standards, policy and regulation. Yselkla has a degree from Durham University, and a Masters degree in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London. Yselkla has worked in previous roles for local government.
