The RIO platform provides a flexible, powerful and robust COTS option for industrial and embedded applications. This presentation explains the RIO architecture, before outlining three expansion options for control and measurement systems, based on CompactRIO, to fit the user's requirements, whether they be open connectivity, deterministic communication or high-speed streaming of waveform data.
