The WiseNET system includes an ultra low-power system-on-chip (SoC) hardware platform and WiseMAC, a low power medium access control protocol. Both elements have been designed to meet the specific requirements of wireless sensor networks. The WiseNET SoC is composed of a radio operating in the 868 and 433 MHz bands, an 8-bits microcontroller and a sensor interface. Ultra-low power consumption with the WiseNET system is achieve through the combination of the low power consumption of the radio device and the high-energy efficiency of the WiseMAC protocol.
