Debate
  • Session
  • Wednesday, 29 January 2014
  • 00:29 - 00:29
  • Duration: 1 hr 54 mins
  • Publication date: 29 Jan 2014
  • Location: IETTV_Room, IETTV_Venue, Salford, United Kingdom
  • Part of event IET Manchester Local Network Event

About the session

This debate helps to identify the key issues regarding the provision of low-carbon heating systems from both the energy and built environment sectors. Topics include: CHP, heat pumps, fuel sources, control systems, market conditions, and government directives and incentives. From the debate, industries can begin to drive out an approach to providing answers to those issues which are felt to be the most important today and in the future (2015-2030). With the knowledge and opinion gained from different regional debates, an IET positional document on heating is to be produced for DECC. (A guided tour of the MediaCity CHP facility on the night served as an exciting prelude to the debate!)
