About the session
David Edge, head of Arup’s Virtual and Visualisation team will talk about the opportunities to change the way communication of the built environment is undertaken. The rich mix of data, emerging technologies and convergence of expertise specialisms enables faster decision making. He will demonstrate how collaboration with specialisms has pioneered better ways of communicating Total Design.
He will draw on examples of where Arup have developed visualisation methodologies to engage all audiences to understand and form an informed opinion of proposals in context, giving stakeholders tools to have an open and clear dialogue. Through innovation with the latest technologies he will demonstrate how virtual reality simulation allows quantifiable experiences of the proposed designs, consultation, planning, stakeholder management and fundraising.
David leads the Arup visualisation team for delivering major infrastructure projects such the London 2012 Olympics and legacy, High Speed two and the Garden Bridge.
