About the session

We are all aware of the changes that face the built environment sector over the coming years, with the drive towards digitisation, smart assets and smart cities and BIM Levels 2 and 3.

When you add Industry 4.0 and the circular economy into the mix, there are more themes and buzzwords than we can shake a virtual stick at. These themes all contribute to the same direction of travel, towards a smarter, more responsive and efficient built environment, and the construction product sector plays a pivotal role in pulling these together and delivering the associated benefits.

This session will cover the Construction Product Association’s recent forward-looking report ‘Future of Construction Product Manufacturing: Digitisation, Industry 4.0 and Circular Economy’, which describes the opportunities and challenges that exist, and how the product sector is beginning to take advantage of automation and servitisation to deliver smarter, more customised assets as part of a circular construction economy.
