The Young Engineering Professionals Conference is a one-day annual conference focusing on the future of engineering, promoting multi-disciplinary working to reach our shared goals. Last year our opening key note was given by Warren East, now CEO of Rolls Royce.

Join us in discussing the societal challenges facing the engineering sector and exploring, with the other young engineers present, how the ‘Internet of Things’ might resolve various aspects such as:

I offer an enthusiastic, systematic and strategic approach to problem-solving, backed with an array of personal achievements, professional experience and proven leadership. My academic specialism spans civil engineering, architecture, sustainability, corporate strategy, Smart Cities, Smart Buildings, open data, urban governance, cost-benefit analysis and technology policy. I have experience in holistic systems engineering approaches and the management of complex, multidisciplinary, large-scale projects.I have a strong interest in challenges that require both sociological and technical understanding to make effective engineering, value-creation and strategy fit for the 21st century.I identify with those who aspire to redefine the design and operation of modern cities, and the businesses within them, to shape a better, happier, more sustainable world.

A Kiwi by origin, having worked internationally (US, Sweden, Spain, Australia and Saudi), with deep UK knowledge (over 30 UK Local Authorities). Antony has developed innovation methods based on his experience of innovation models from blue chip firms, particularly addressing the needs of different organisations to collaborate and share data. Originally trained as a solicitor, and subsequently holding diverse roles including policy, equalities, performance, procurement and transformation, Antony has a deep understanding of powers and governance within city services and, through his work in the private sector, of commercial interests and risk management.
