Abstract

The Young Engineering Professionals Workshop is a one-day conference focusing on the future of engineering, promoting multi-disciplinary working to reach our shared goals.

We will discuss the issues and challenges facing the sector in the future, and explore how the young engineers present can ensure the long-term success of three innovative, emerging areas of industry:

·         Smart Cities

·         Robotics

    I am an academic who is an expert in robotics and automation. I founded and run the Mobile Robotics Group within the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. I research all aspects of mobile robotics but particular strengths lie in machine vision, navigation, autonomy, mapping, estimation, machine learning and control.
