    Low Carbon Solutions Design Manager, UK Power Networks.Tim works as the Low Carbon Solutions Design Manager for UK Power Networks' Future Networks team. He currently holds overall responsibility for the Technical Design Authority for the flagship project: 'Flexible Plug and Play Low Carbon Networks', which is funded by Ofgem's Low Carbon Network Fund. Tim has over 11 years' experience in power systems, SCADA and telecommunications. He completed his Bachelor's Honours degree with one year sandwich placement with London Underground. Tim joined UK Power Networks in 2002 as part of Power System Protection team. He joined the Operational Telecommunications team in 2005 where he was then heavily involved in UK Power Networks' flagship satellite SCADA project between 2006 and 2007, carrying out design, testing and commissioning. The satellite project enabled a complete migration of legacy SCADA and telecommunications infrastructure to new SCADA platform, a new IP-based protocol and infrastructure to over 1000 substations in UK Power Networks' area; this resulted in Tim taking the lead role in implementing and managing the new system.
