AI and advanced data analytics are enhancing the user experience for fans worldwide. For 30 years, IBM has worked in partnership with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) as its Technology and Innovation Partner for the annual Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
The partnership has led to frequent advancements in the IT operations on-site and the ability to introduce new apps and services that take advantages of real-time insights generated through cutting-edge data collection and analysis.
Recent years have seen new technologies such as artificial intelligences and cloud computing services work their way into the infrastructure and more upgrades were made in time for the 2019 tournament.
We journeyed to SW19 to see the system for ourselves, find out how IBM and AELTC have got to this point, and see where they may go next with it.
