Abstract
Horizontal Innovation™ is the effective transfer and application of pre-existing technologies and knowledge from one industrial sector, to help meet a challenge or challenges, in another.
On 25 May 2017, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC) launched a major Horizontal Innovation™ Funding Programme.
UK micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are invited to submit ideas for the application of pre-existing technologies from one sector to another. Applications are invited in seven sectors with up to £50,000 worth of research and development support from the HVMC for the selected bid in each sector – total funding in kind of £350,000 to accelerate innovation. The closing date for applications is 31 July 2017.
The purpose of this short film is to inspire applications from SMEs for Horizontal Innovation™ solutions which will benefit the Construction sector.
